Mickey Bolitar is the new kid in town: he’s also got a dead father and a mother in rehab. However, he’s trying to ease his way into his new life–he has a sweet girlfriend named Ashley, new friends, and pick-up games of basketball. When Ashley goes missing, Mickey is plunged into a grand mystery as he rushes to save Ashley and comes face to face with family secrets.
This was a great book! Harlen Coben knows how to write an engaging plot. From the introduction of the mysterious Bat Lady, I was hooked. Coben also did a great job of keeping me guessing through the plot. Coben threw in a lot of weird things that kept me guessing about the setting, the plot, the characters–pretty much everything. It was glorious. Mickey is also a great character–he’s a superhero in his own right, but his wit and dictation bring him to the level of the audience. I can’t wait to read more in the next book! Definitely give this one a gander!
